Unstoppable Pranav Vashi

I am originally from India and have been in Canada since 2018. An engineer by qualification, I have been working in the project management domain since the inception of my career. I was lucky to be able to make a choice of my career path and chose project management as it provided me to get involved in technical and business aspects of a project and organization. I have worked in different industries like engineering consultancy, manufacturing, EPC, and construction management. Currently, I work as a Corporate Project Manager for a product development and manufacturing company with scientific applications.

I have been volunteering with Unstoppable me ever since I arrived in Canada in 2018. I started with posting articles and updates to the LinkedIn page and then as a facilitator for PM discussions in 2019 and 2020.

Volunteering is the best way to help others and learn in the process. It is a great self-development tool to overcome your shortcomings and also contribute to any cause you believe in. It gives me a very positive vibe.

I like to meet new people and interact with them and understand different cultures. I am a food lover and like to explore different cuisines and experiment with new recipes.

I am passionate about Project management and its application to create value for organizations. My technical background combined with my passion for business has helped me evolve as a Project manager. I have worked on projects right from the drawing board to the archives.

As an engineering graduate, I have worked with global conglomerates like Siemens on several complex and challenging projects in Engineering, EPIC, and EPCM mode of contracts. I have had the opportunity to work on projects in Energy, Infrastructure, Minerals and Metals, Pipeline, Water treatment plants, and Construction management. My passion for Project Management and hands-on working experience in the initial years of my professional career led me to pursue the PMP designation in 2015, which has helped me utilize tools and best practices to manage a variety of projects through the entire life cycle.

Currently, working as a Corporate Project manager I have been responsible for implementing project management processes and successful execution of enterprise-wide projects including engineering, product development, Application Software development, IT, and Sales & Marketing. Using a combination of waterfall and agile approaches based on the nature of the project, I am responsible for project financials, schedule forecasting, and resource management.

I am an active volunteer with several organizations as a Subject Matter Expert and facilitator for Project Management activities.
