- Recruit 3 volunteers to complete key projects
- We have a basic process of recruiting volunteers by posting job descriptions on our website and other volunteer websites
- Interviews are done virtually
- We have a basic onboarding digital course for members and volunteers
- We are a volunteer-based organization and constantly in need of volunteers to perform key projects
- Every volunteer will positively impact around 20-50 people on their professional journeys
The Right Volunteer
- Recruiting experience (an asset)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable making decisions independently
- Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods
- Familiar with a wide variety of sourcing avenues
- Source candidates using a variety of search methods to build a robust candidate pipeline
- Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications, and performing phone screenings
- Take ownership of candidate experience by designing and managing it
- Develop skill-based project postings, with descriptions, and requirements
- Perform reference checks as needed
- Manage volunteer onboarding
- Manage the overall interview, selection, and closing process
- Ensure all volunteer screening, selection, and hiring is done in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations
- Works remotely from anywhere
- Flexible hours: 1-2 hours over 2-3 weeks
Project Plan
Prep
- Define key priorities and projects we need to be completed
- Develop an action plan and get buy-in from the leadership team on the approach
- Design any volunteer skill-based project description to be posted online
Milestone 1 - Recruit
- Post your volunteer skill-based project posting
- Conduct video chats/telephone interviews
- Perform reference check as needed
Milestone 2 - Onboard
- Welcome the new volunteer to the organization, by organizing a videoconference with the leadership team
- Follow up with the new volunteer and solve for any roadblocks on their: Membership and volunteer onboarding digital courses
- Answer any questions or redirect them to the leadership team
Milestone 3 - Feedback
- Follow up with the volunteers to understand how their experience has been so far
- Share with the leadership team any lessons learned and feedback received
- Recommend to the leadership team the top 3 changes we should add to the recruiting and onboarding process

Step 1: Inquire

Step 2: Interview
We will follow up with you to have a quick touchpoint and discuss how our and your interests align.
Step 3: Contribution
Volunteers will have frequent follow-ups with their leaders and attend other meetings. The time commitment to volunteer varies per role but usually is around 1 hour per week.
Step 4: Recognition
